USA CYCLING EVENT INFORMATION
Individual Time Trial National Championships
Thursday, June 22
The ITT will be held on a 7.2-mile section of roadways that traverse along the banks of Melton Lake and the internationally-acclaimed Oak Ridge Rowing venue in Oak Ridge, just 30 minutes west of downtown Knoxville.
The cyclers will complete a variety of laps of the 7.2 mile ITT course. The women will complete two laps of the 7.2-mile ITT course for a total distance of 23.2 kilometers. The men will complete three laps for a total distance of 34.9 kilometers. The course is relatively flat with three technical u-turns, allowing spectators to see athletes pass multiple times from one location.

Criterium National Championships
Friday, June 23
The Criterium will be held under the lights of downtown Knoxville, with the start and finish on Gay Street. The 1.1-mile circuit is fast, short, and technical. Athletes will race for a set amount of time and then a specific number of finishing laps.

On Saturday, June 24, children and families will get the chance to meet some of our Olympic Athletes and Pro Racers at Safety City. The event will also feature progressive bike activities for youth riders on striders, push bikes, and pedal bikes; exciting giveaways from USA Cycling; Dollywood ticket raffle, Bunnz Food Truck, Kona Ice, family-friendly vendors, and more! Riders are asked to bring their own bikes and helmets to ride. In addition to this once in a lifetime opportunity to meet Olympians, take advantage of this exclusive opportunity to enjoy Safety City as a family on a Saturday!

Pro Road National Championships
Sunday, June 25
The peloton returns to downtown Knoxville and once again starts and finishes on Gay Street, allowing for incredible viewing experiences. The 6.8-mile route will cover familiar territory, crossing the Tennessee River via the iconic Gay Street Bridge, traversing the signature climb up Sherrod Street, and using the James White Parkway to return to downtown Knoxville. The women will race 10 laps, for a total distance of 68 miles, and the men will complete 17 laps for a total distance 115.6 miles.

Road Closure
Thursday, June 22: Oak Ridge
MELTON LAKE DRIVE: PARTIAL SHUT DOWN AT 7AM. MLD will be closed from Amanda Drive to Emory Valley Road to facilitate course set up. PHASE 2 SHUT DOWN AT 8:30AM. MLD will be closed from Palisades Parkway to Rolling Links Blvd. Union Valley Road will also be closed. FULL closure of MLD from Palisades Parkway to Edgemoor Road including the neighborhoods will begin at 9:25AM.
NEIGHBORHOOD IMPACT: The River’s Run, Rockbridge and Royal Troon neighborhoods will
see road impacts beginning at 8:30AM. Riders will warm up along the course, including the neighborhood from 9AM-9:25AM. Neighborhood residents need to practice extra caution during this time and will be assisted by ORPD. Cars will be able to enter and exit the neighborhood until 9:25AM by Rolling Links Blvd. and driving towards Edgemoor Rd. FULL neighborhood closure will begin at 9:25AM.
Residents may enter and exit the neighborhood using Rolling Links Blvd to and from Edgemoor Road approximately between 11:10AM-11:40AM. To exit the neighborhood, cars will be able to line up leading up to the timed break. For vehicles re-entering the neighborhood during the break period, they will be allowed to enter Melton Lake Drive via Edgemoor Road and line up prior to the break. ORPD will be assisting entry and exit of cars.
In case of any emergency, the race will be stopped and first-responders will assist swiftly.
Any recurring services including but not limited to: home care, lawn care, or repair services, will need to be rescheduled or arrive prior to 8:30AM. All vehicles along the race route will need to be in the driveway and off the road.
Residents of Palisades Parkway may turn left onto MLD toward Oak Ridge Turnpike throughout the day with the assistance of ORPD.
EMORY VALLEY ROAD IMPACT: Emory Valley Rd. will be closed from Artesia Drive to MLD beginning at 8:30AM. There will be no access onto MLD from Emory Valley Road. Residents of Amanda Dr. or Emory Valley Rd. will need to take Antioch Dr., Baltimore Dr., etc. to exit the neighborhood.
REOPENING: All roads, including neighborhoods, will tentatively be open by 5:00PM.

Friday, June 23: Knoxville
Roads will be closed from 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Finish times approximate). This will affect traffic on parts of South Gay Street, West Hill Avenue & Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame Drive. The Gay Street block from Church to Cumberland will be closed all day Friday.
The streets will have a hard closure during the race. There will be no access across the route during the race.
Crit Race Road Closures

Saturday, June 24: Knoxville
The Gay Street Block from Church to Cumberland will be closed all day Saturday.
Sunday, June 25: Knoxville
The below road closures will be controlled by the Knoxville Police Department and will allow for crossover traffic in select areas. The above maps will show specific locations where you can cross the route during the race.
Roads will be closed from 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Finish times approximate). There will be periodic road closures through DOWNTOWN and SOUTH KNOXVILLE.

The Gay street block from Church to Cumberland will be closed until 9:00 PM on Sunday.
Further Refinement of all race day schedules is expected prior to race days. More specifics on closures and openings to come.
Access Points
North Side / Downtown Access
- Access in and out of Blue Shaded areas ONLY Where black arrows are shown. All other points will be closed.
- Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame Drive will be closed from Hill Ave to Howard Baker.
- The ramp from Neyland Dr to Hall of Fame will also be closed.
- People who need to access will need to utilize James White Parkway ramp to access the Hill Ave Crossing
- If attempting to exit Hill Ave, motorist can take the ramp from Hill Ave to James White Parkway Southbound toward Howard Baker
- Another option is to take Hill Avenue to State St.
- Once on State St. Access to JWP north bound or use Cumberland Ave to access Central St. to get to Neyland Dr.
- State Street Garage will be accessible via Union avenue from Gay St. and Central St.
Southside Access
- Access in and out of yellow shaded area ONLY where blue arrows are shown. All other points will be closed
- Island Home Ave offers uninterrupted access in and out
- Sevier Ave, Moody Ave, Crescent Ave and Anita Drive offer access but traffic will hold during race passage each lap and resume after
Sherrod Road Access
- Sherrod Rd is the highlight of the race course and will be closed on June 25th (From 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
- Residents will not be allowed to drive up and down Sherrod Rd that day due to safety concerns
- No road side parking will be allowed on race day unless all four wheels are safely off the pavement
- Sherrod Rd residents on the race course should park at the Kerbela Temple lot by 8:00 AM and can come up and go all day from there heading west on Mimosa. A shuttle van will run that lot up Sherrod Rd to Davenport each lap (approx. 25 minutes) and can carry residents to their vehicles in the Kerbela lot or back home from the lot
