UT Downtown Gallery
The UT Downtown Gallery is located next to the Historic Emporium Building at 106 S. Gay Street in Downtown Knoxville. Since September 2004, the gallery has been a founding art organization of the downtown Knoxville art scene. The gallery’s presence has contributed significantly to the revitalization of this area into a thriving, creative neighborhood filled with arts and music venues. As the only public facing University of Tennessee professional arts organization located within the community, we foster connections between the campus and the broader public through the presentation of thought-provoking exhibitions, educational initiatives, and cultural programming.
We coordinate free, public lectures and workshops by exhibiting artists, participate in First Friday events, and present to varied community organizations and K-12 classes, attracting over 7,100 visitors annually.
The gallery hours are Wednesday – Friday 11 am – 6 pm and Saturday 10 am – 3 pm. The gallery closes in observance of national holidays and between exhibitions.
