When it comes to mountain biking, there are countless options for all skill levels in the immediate Knoxville area, making a great town for outdoor adventure! (Beginners will want to check out this post.) In South Knoxville at Baker Creek Preserve, you will find the Devil’s Racetrack Downhill Trail, a professionally designed and constructed 0.8-mile extreme downhill trail.  Baker’s Creek Preserve offers other downhill options such as Barn Burner Downhill, a highly rated 3,115 ft popular blue singletrack trail that on average takes 7 minutes to complete.  The new asphalt jumpline, Dragstrip, and the popular Cruz Valley Run Downhill are some other great features to this immediate area.

Another local favorite within Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness is AC/DC, a great single track with a few features such as one wall, 7 bridges, and a few good ways off the ground (bridges are considered black diamond).  You can reach the AC/DC trail from Baker Creek Preserve by riding the South Loop connection from Red Bud Crest trail. This is an awesome, flowy gem of the Urban Wilderness that will keep you on your toes.  From Baker Creek Preserve, there are many ways to connect by trail to the variety of parks and other trails that the Urban Wilderness has to offer.
