Originating at Island Home Park, the Will Skelton Greenway winds along the banks of the Tennessee River, where you may pass a few of the local kids fishing from the bridge or plunging into the river from the rope swing. The greenway continues snaking through the woods and enters the peaceful sanctuary of Ijams Nature Center. Proceeding through the park, the greenway then journeys over to the Forks of the River Wildlife Management Area. During the first few weeks of July, the fields here are ablaze in sunflowers — it's a sight you won't want to miss!
Hunting: From the fourth Saturday in August through the end of February, hunters with firearms may be encountered in the Forks of the River Wildlife Management Area. Bicycle riding off of the greenway on the Forks of the River Trails is prohibited during hunting season.
