Knoxville is the big town with little attitude. We treat everyone like a local.
Within less than one square mile of downtown’s popular Market Square, you’ll find more than 80 restaurants (a variety of cuisines nearly all locally-owned), roof-top bars, world-class theatres, museums, parks, live music venues, shops and attractions.
Live music is everywhere, including the Tennessee and Bijou Theatres, and free live concerts take place every Monday-Saturday at the WDVX studios located inside the Downtown Knoxville Visitors Center. Year round, the city hosts a number of diverse cultural festivals including Rhythm N’ Blooms, Dogwood Arts, HoLa and Big Ears, a 4-day weekend featuring rock, jazz, classical, folk and electronica.
Just three miles from downtown, you’ll discover Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness. This 1,000 acre stretch features more than 50 miles of hiking and biking trails within city limits (and PS – your canine kids are welcome here). There’s simply no end to the outings and adventures you can enjoy.
Knoxville is located at the intersection of I-75 and I-40 - within a day’s drive of nearly half the U.S. population. McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) is located just 12 miles from downtown and offers 120 daily flights to more than 20 non-stop destinations including Chicago, Dallas, D.C., New York and Denver.
Come see us. You’ll quickly discover… Knoxville Will Surprise You.
