Happy hour is here!  Enjoy this new series featuring local cocktail creations from creative bartenders and mixologists at various Knoxville establishments.  Today we’re featuring Tern ClubFor USA Cycling Pro Road National Championships results, the perfect kitschy tiki bar that looks like it dropped out of Mad Men.  Try your hand at the recipe below and enjoy a glass of Jungle Bird, and consider stopping by the Tern Club on your next visit to Knoxville – cheers!

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Gosling's Black Seal
  • .75 oz Campari
  • 1.5 oz pineapple juice
  • .75 oz fresh lime
  • .25 oz demerara syrup*

Method

Method: Shake hard with ice, pour into fancy and fun glass of choice, garnish with two pineapple fronds.

All Tern Club syrups are made in house. The demerara syrup is relatively easy for folks to make at home.

*Demerara Syrup: 2 parts demerara sugar, 1 part water, heat over low until sugar is completely dissolved.
