We have invited our summer Marketing Team intern, Tori McKinney, to write some guest posts for the Visit Knoxville blog.  She has a bucket list of things she wants to experience in Knoxville this summer before starting school again this fall so we’ve created ‘Fun Intern Friday’ for you to read about her adventures.  Take it away, Tori!

Hi! My name is Tori and I’m a Junior at University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I’m spending my summer interning at Visit Knoxville which is allowing me to explore many things Knoxville has to offer. Since I was born and raised here, you’d think I would have done any and everything there is to do around this city. Yeah… not exactly. So I came up with a bucket list that will not only help me enjoy the city a little more, but help you do so also! Follow this mini blog series, Fun Intern Friday, and see some of what Knoxville has to offer.

Downtown Knoxville

Living in one place all your life can limit you to what you actually experience. When you travel, you look at the hottest and most interesting things to do. Often when people think of their own hometown, as I do, it seems like there just isn’t anything to do. Wrong! Now that school’s out for summer, I have all this free time and I need to find something to occupy it with. I sat down and wanted to think of things that I could come up with and make a summer to do bucket list. At the end of the summer I want to be able to look at the things I’ve actually accomplished, and the things I look forward to conquering the next go around. Keeping in mind I’m an underage college student, I would have to come up with age friendly activities that anyone could do. Whether you’re visiting or a Knoxville native like me, hopefully my list gives you ideas to make memories and enjoy this city a little bit more.
