(Knoxville, TN.) 04/22/22 - Knoxville, Tennessee has been selected as the destination city for the newest Roam Fest women’s mountain bike festival location. Roam Fest, Presented by SRAM, is a three-day event for 300 registered participants. The event offers a jam-packed schedule May 13th-15th featuring a large private expo, group rides, workshops, the Roam Fest Adventure Film Tour, an industry panel, dance party, and catered dinners both Friday and Saturday night.
The festival is intended to showcase Knoxville as a world-class ride destination, while connecting non-traditional riders with bike brands and outdoor organizations. “We chose Knoxville as our new location because the riding is incredible, the community welcoming, and the trails are open to adaptive riders and ebikes.” Says Roam Fest Co-Founder and Festival Director Ash Zolton. “We’re excited to showcase the trails and ride infrastructure that the City of Knoxville, Appalachian Mountain Bike Club, and countless others have invested in to put Knoxville on the mtb destination map.”
Roam Fest has dedicated 20% of event registration space to Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color (BIPOC) while also offering dozens of scholarship opportunities for BIPOC riders, adaptive athletes, and LGBQT+ individuals. “Equity starts with access, and a personalized invite goes a long way in making non-traditional folks feel welcome in any space or event.” Says Zolton, “We’re committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming event for all women and femm-identifying folks, and I hope our actions showcase that we’re serious about this commitment. Everyone benefits from a diverse group of people celebrating bikes together, we’re just honored to be in a position to provide that opportunity in an amazing community like Knoxville.”
Established in 2015 with a team of two, Roam Events has grown into an industry-leading production company working with innovative outdoor businesses leaders and game-changers to create extraordinary adventure-fueled events.
