KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (November 14, 2023) – For the sixth time in organization’s history, PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will buck into Knoxville, Tennessee, returning to Thompson-Boling Arena on March 2, 2024, with Kubota PBR Knoxville.
For one night only, some of the world’s best bull riders will battle the sport’s rankest bovine athletes, the ultimate showdown of man vs. beast, in one of the most exciting and unpredictable live sporting events to witness.
PBR’s return to Knoxville comes on the spurs of one of the organization’s most dynamic individual seasons in 2023, as, riding the surging popularity of Western Sports, the Velocity Tour broke and reset numerous attendance and competition records en route to its most successful season to date.
The upcoming Kubota PBR Knoxville will mark the 19th stop of the 30-event regular season for the PBR’s expansion series. Eventgoers will watch riders vie for crucial points in the race to be crowned the 2024 PBR Velocity Tour Champion.
PBR last bucked into Knoxville in March 2023 when Brandon Davis (Cabot, Arkansas) went a perfect 2-for-2 to win the tour stop inside Thompson-Boling Arena.
Davis first put points on the board in Round 1, tying for the second-best score when he dominated Matthew (Generations Pro Rodeo, Inc.) for 85.5 points.
The surging Arkansas native was then tasked with Oreo (Dustin Denning Bucking Bulls/Burnt Chimney Bucking Bulls) in the championship round. In a perfect pairing, Davis matched the animal athlete jump-for-jump en route to the whistle, marked a Knoxville Invitational-best 88 points to clinch the event win.
Other past PBR Knoxville Invitational event winners include: Tye Chandler (2022 – Celina, Texas); Joao Henrique Lucas (2020 – Bastos, Brazil); Dylan Smith (2019 – Ararat, Virginia); Ryan Miller (2018 – Waterloo, Indiana).
The bull riding action for Kubota PBR Knoxville begins at 7:00 p.m. CST on Saturday, March 2. All 36 competing bull riders will get on one bull each in Round 1. The Top 10 will advance to the championship round later that evening for one more out and a chance at the event title.
