KNOXVILLE, TN (October 10, 2022) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Conley Entertainment Group will present a screening of its fifth feature film, “Memento Mori,” Thursday, October 13, at the Regal Riviera in downtown Knoxville. Red carpet will be held at 6pm, and the screening will begin at 7:15pm with a run time of 90 minutes.

The thriller, formerly known as “Homestead”, stars Leven Rambin (“The Forever Purge,” “The Dirt,” “The Hunger Games,” “True Detective”), Jake McLaughlin (“Black Bird,” “Quantico,” “Savages,” “In the Valley of Elah”) and Shane West (“A Walk to Remember,” “Gotham,” “Salem,” “Nikita”) is written and directed by Sundance Film Festival nominated director, Marcos Efron (“And Soon the Darkness”). West and Efron are confirmed to attend the red carpet and screening.

“Memento Mori” was shot entirely on location in Knoxville, Tennessee last fall. Brian M. Conley, CEO of Conley Entertainment Group, was born and raised in Knoxville and has long wanted to bring feature film production to East Tennessee.

“We are hoping that ‘Memento Mori’ will be the first of many,” said Conley. “We had a wonderful experience working with Curt Willis (Director of the Visit Knoxville Film Office) and everyone in Knoxville and Knox County. The State of Tennessee (which provided tax rebate incentives for the project) really stepped up, as well.”

Efron added, “We had a great crew, comprised mostly of locals, who did an exemplary job, and we are very proud of the film we created.”

“We couldn't be more excited for the premiere of ‘Memento Mori,’ a feature film shot in beautiful locations around Knoxville and Knox County,” said Kim Bumpas, President of Visit Knoxville. “We congratulate Conley Entertainment on this achievement, which speaks to the work of the Visit Knoxville Film Office in making Knoxville a very film friendly destination.”

“We had an amazing time working with the production team of Memento Mori,” said Curt Willis, Visit Knoxville Film Office Director. “An incredible cast and gorgeous locations will once again show the world how beautiful our area is and what a great place it is to film.”

“Memento Mori” is the story of a young couple who flee the city in the face of a cataclysmic event that threatens to wipe out the human race.
