Knoxville, TN – Two Knoxville breweries, Crafty Bastard Brewery and Last Days of Autumn Brewery have paired up for a wet-hopped beer event. Both breweries have taken locally grown Cascade hops from KnoxHops farm and brewed some fantastic beverages for your tasting pleasure.
Let’s meet the beers, over at Crafty Bastard we have the "Greenway" (Wet Hopped Ale #3) - brewed with fresh hops just picked from the vine, this clean-tasting pale ale has a mellow citrus and floral taste with no bitterness or bite; it is creamy and refreshing, made with locally grown hops right here in Knoxville.
The next two beers come to us from Last Days of Autumn Brewery. They are:
Wet Hopped Ale #1 - This is a very light IPA made with mostly 2 row barley and over 20 pounds of fresh cascade hops. The flavor is light and clean. the hops provide a mellow bitterness with some light citrus, grass and floral notes.
Wet Hopped Ale #2 – A slightly darker ale made with 2 row and caramel malts for an added richness but still very clean. Slightly more bitter than #1 but with the same flavor of citrus & grass on the finish.
So you think you want to head over and see these great collaborations? Well we have people to assist!
Knox Brew Tours http://www.knoxbrewtours.com/ will be offering shuttles from 5 to 7 between the two breweries for those who want to try all three versions of these limited beers. For those of you who want to work off those beers the owners of Craft Bastard, Jen and Aaron also have a cycling trip scheduled from Crafty to Last Days at 6 o'clock. Come bring your bikes and join them on a short ride there-and-back.
Of course no one should drink, ride or talk about beer on an empty stomach so we have some food trucks joining in the fun! From Scratch Food Truck will be making its debut at Crafty Bastard Brewery with their delicious rotating menu. They'll be set up around 6:00 PM. Cubish Food Cart will be at Last Days of Autumn around 6:00 PM with their Cuban-Irish food. They are vegan friendly!
