Kingsport/Knoxville, TN - Tennessee’s first cidery is officially named the Second Best Cidery in the country. Gypsy Circus Cider Company, based in Kingsport and Knoxville, receives the ranking after winning USA Today’s Readers’ Choice Awards.

Even being named as a nominee was an accomplishment. A panel of experts and 10Best editors chose Gypsy Circus Cider Company in September to be considered in the national poll.

“We are proud to be one of the many awesome things that puts Kingsport and Knoxville, Tennessee on the map for producing high quality and innovative products,” said Gypsy founder, Aaron Caron. “This could not have happened without our dedicated base of loyal fans who voted for us across the country.

The two cities that Gypsy calls home also welcome the honor.

“Kingsport is home to many originals,” said Jud Teague, Visit Kingsport Executive Director. “We are honored to be home to Tennessee’s first cidery and proud that our friends at Gypsy Circus Cider Company have been awarded this much deserved national recognition.”

“We are extremely proud of our partners at Gypsy Circus Cider,” said Kim Bumpas, President of Visit Knoxville. “Knoxville is fortunate to be home to Barrelhouse by Gypsy Circus, one of only 5 exclusive wild cider barrelhouses in the U.S. and one of more than 25 stops on Knoxville’s Ale Trail – a great experience for visitors and locals alike.”

Gypsy Circus is the southeast’s most awarded cidery, and in almost eight years in business has more than quadrupled in capacity, with locations in Kingsport and Knoxville. Since opening in 2015, Gypsy Circus has expanded to producing mead, wines and spirits with partner brands.
