The Farragut Museum has opened a new temporary exhibit on Farragut artists titled “Farragut Focus: A Creative Community.”  The exhibit features local artists including visual, performing, musical, etc., and will be open through April.

Included in the exhibit are Farragut High School graduates Dave Barnes, a singer/songwriter with a grammy nomination for “God Gave Me You;” Zhubin Parang, a four time Emmy winner as a writer for “The Daily Show;” LB Wells, an actress who performed on Broadway in “Spiderman;” Ben Garant, an actor, comedian, producer, and writer who stars in “Reno 911!” and wrote the “Night at the Museum” movies.  Also, the current drummer for one of the best-selling bands of the 21st century, Linkin Park, is Farragut’s own Colin Brittain.  Former Farragut resident Jake Thomas starred in “Lizzie McGuire,” one of the top children’s television shows of all time, currently celebrating it’s 25th anniversary.  Bands in the exhibit include Superdrag and 10 Years.

“Farragut has so much to be proud of.  We really wanted to highlight the people from Farragut who have made an impact in the arts world.  We have musicians, graphic designers, jewelry designers, writers.  It’s incredible,” said Kristi Vining, Historic Resources Coordinator for the Town of Farragut.

The Farragut Museum is open Tuesday – Saturday 11 am – 2 pm, and admission is free.
