MULTIPLE AWARDS FOR KNOX WHISKEY WORKS

Downtown Knoxville’s Craft Distillery takes home multiple medals in spirit competitions

Knoxville, Tennessee – The awards continue to roll in for local distillery, Knox Whiskey Works. Over the last month the small batch, craft distillery located at 516 W Jackson Ave, has won five medals from the American Distilling Institute and the American Craft Distilling Association. “We are extremely thankful for all the support from the local community. And now to have the professional, critical awards, that’s really special,” said Stanton Webster distillery manager.

Open since November 2015, Knox Whiskey Works’ Old City Heirloom Corn Whiskey was awarded a Gold Medal by the American Distilling Institute and a Silver Medal from the American Craft Distilling Association. The distillery’s Tennessee Valley Vodka picked up silver medals from the judges and the popular Jackson Ave Gin won as well. “We were thrilled to have such positive feedback from the judges for our spirits in these national competitions, especially the Gold for our whiskey,” said Knox Whiskey Works manager Cindy Nichols.

While continuing to fill and age oak barrels with bourbon for future release, the distillery is staying active releasing many seasonal and specialty spirits. This spring Knox Whiskey Works has released Marble City Pink Gin – a red wine barrel aged gin that pays respect to East Tennessee’s historical role as a major source of Tennessee Pink Marble, and most recently Fleur de Vie – a floral based liqueur sweetened with local honey from Smoky Ridge Apiary. All spirits are available for sampling and purchase at the distillery tasting room seven days a week.
