The Visit Knoxville Sports Commission announces today that the North America East Semifinal by Syndicate Crown will return to Knoxville in 2024. The city was selected alongside Carson, California to host the only two U.S. events: the North American East Semifinal and the North American West Semifinal (respectively).
Semifinals are the final qualifying event for athletes hoping to compete at the 2024 NOBULL CrossFit® Games in Fort Worth, Texas. The North American East Semifinal in Knoxville will take place in the final week (three) of competition at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum May 31-June 2.
The list of international cities hosting semifinal CrossFit® competitions includes: Décines-Charpieu, Fance; Busan, South Korea; Brisbane, Queensland, Australia; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, South Africa.
The Visit Knoxville Sports Commission hosted not one, but two CrossFit® semifinal events in back-to-back events at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum in May 2022: the MACC and the Syndicate Crown. The MACC first took place in Knoxville in May 2021. Originally run in Baltimore, MD since 2012, it was the first time the MACC had been held outside the Metro DC area.
More details, including ticket sale dates and volunteer opportunities, will be announced in coming weeks by the Visit Knoxville Sports Commission.
