Celebration of Life for Mayor Randy Tyree

Visit Knoxville and the City of Knoxville announce a Celebration of Life for Mayor Randy Tyree on January 17, 2026, to be held on the 6^th Floor of the Sunsphere. This event is open to the public, and overflow will be made available as needed. This event will also be livestreamed via the Sunsphere’s Facebook page.

City of Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon will read a proclamation, the Knoxville Police Department will be on mounted patrol, and the family will make additional remarks on the life of Randy Tyree.

Following the ceremony, the Sunsphere’s Observation Deck will be open to the public with free admission in celebration of Randy’s contributions to the City of Knoxville and the region.
