Directions: From downtown Knoxville, head east on Magnolia Avenue; after approximately 3 miles (before Cherry Street), turn right onto Chestnut Street; park is on the left.

Paul Hogue Park


Nestled in the community, Paul Hogue Park provides the neighborhood with a playground, lots of open space and sheltered picnic areas. There is a walking loop that winds around the park — perfect for families pushing strollers and escorting children on bicycles and scooters.


HISTORY OF PARK

Paul Hogue is a Knoxville native and former NBA player. Hogue grew up on Wilson Avenue and played basketball at Austin High School, an all-black high school, where his father served as principal. Hogue attended the University of Cincinnati and was later selected by the New York Knicks as the second overall pick in the 1962 NBA Draft.

PARK RULES & REGULATIONS

  • No hitting golf balls anywhere in the park
  • No motorized vehicles in park
  • No equestrian activity
2.) Per city ordinance, all animals must be maintained on a leash.
3.) Please be respectful of other trail users.
4.) Please help to keep our parks beautiful by disposing trash in proper receptacles.
