Mary Vestal Park is designed around the scenic Goose Creek in South Knoxville. Mary Vestal Greenway follows the creek throughout the park. The park's large green space supports a softball field, playground and large picnic shelter. Nestled under tall shade trees, individual picnic tables invite you to enjoy your time at the park — bring a book or a picnic lunch and appreciate the serene landscape that surrounds the park. South Knoxville Community Center is conveniently located across the street from the park.

HISTORY OF THE PARK

The park is named after the mother of two brothers who owned and operated Vestal Lumber Company, whose offices were located in what is now known as the Vestal community.
