WDVX is an independent, listener-supported community public radio station and roots music is what we’re all about. We serve counties in the Cumberland Mountains and the Great Valley of East Tennessee.
Live performance is an important part of WDVX programming, which features a variety of the roots music we’re all about. It’s a mix of Bluegrass, Americana, Classic and Alternative Country, Western Swing, Blues, Old Time and Appalachian Mountain Music, Bluegrass Gospel, Celtic and Folk.
WDVX is proud of its commitment to local and regional musicians, providing an outlet for their talents on live radio shows in front of an audience and in-studio performances at our studios located in the Knoxville Visitor Center in downtown Knoxville.
Sprinkled into that is roots music from other parts of the world, as well as some good old rock ‘n’ roll, and local artists. WDVX offers our listeners a variety of specialty shows featuring music you can’t hear anywhere else.
