Hexagon opened for business April 21, 2017, under brewmaster Stephen Apking, in the Fountain City neighborhood. The brewery features a 20-barrel production and 3.5-barrel pilot system with a Taproom open 7 days a week at 1002 Dutch Valley Drive that serves food and features 24 taps. Their beers are also self-distributed to taps at bars and restaurants around Knoxville. The balanced line-up of malt forward beers have begun to stand out around town with Sexy Cat American Pale Ale taking the lead as the most popular beer. Alter Ego Alt Bier, Carl’s Dunkelweizen and Skinny D Kolsch have also stood out as notable smooth, easy-drinking ales. In addition, Hexagon experiments with local ingredients with beers like Benton’s Smoked Bacon Porter and Aunt Mina’s Spiced Sweet Potato beer, and Smokin' Goat Smoked Pepper Red Ale. Their well-rounded line-up of brews makes sure there is always a beer for you!
