Samata Amy DeCori is one of the co-founders of anl Asheville kirtan group, Sangita Devi. She led kirtan weekly in Asheville for fifteen years from 2002-2017. Samata is currently leading monthly kirtans and singing for yoga classes. Samata is an elementary school teacher who also teaches mindfulness, yoga, and NVC to preschool through fifth grade students. Over the years Samata has been fortunate to play with many of the premier Kirtan Wallahs including Jai Uttal, Dave Stringer, Bhagavan Das, Sean Johnson, David Newman, and Wynne Parris. Samata is passionate about creating opportunities for both children and adults to access and explore their interior world through music, breathe, and art.
