Due to COVID-19, Bike Walk Knoxville and Visit Knoxville regret to announce that we will be unable to host Tour de Lights in its traditional format this year due to the large crowd the event usually draws. We do however want to encourage people all across Knoxville to get in the holiday spirit by decorating themselves and their bike and taking a ride around local neighborhoods this holiday season to enjoy the holiday decorations by bike! The City of Knoxville’s Office of Neighborhoods and Office of Special Events will be collaborating to create a map of Knoxville Neighborhood Holiday Trails, which will be a useful resource to find the best places to explore.
We will be hosting the annual costume contest virtually, so participants can submit pictures of their costumes and decorated bikes and compete for prizes including VIP passes to the USA Cycling 2021 event.
While we are disappointed that this fun and festive event cannot occur this year, we hope everyone has a safe and healthy holiday season, and we look forward to seeing everyone on the streets for Tour de Lights 2021!
