The Tennessee Clean Water Network, TVA, TWRA, and Seven Island Birding Park are happy to announce Sturgeon Fest 2019! This one-day event offers close encounters with the “Gentle Giants of the deep.” Lake sturgeon are Tennessee’s largest fresh water fish and they can live to be over 100. This festival will feature outdoor educational exhibits along the shores of the French Broad River and the option of hand releasing a live sturgeon, showcasing these prehistoric creatures.

When: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, September 14th! Rain or shine!
*Come earlier than later because when the fish are ready to be released, they are!*

Where: Seven Islands State Birding Park, 2809 Kelly Ln, Kodak, Tennessee 37764

Cost: Free admission and parking

The Sturgeon Fest is a partnership between the Tennessee Valley Authority, The Tennessee Clean Water Network,US Fish and Wildlife Service, natural resource agencies, government, industry, scientists, and anglers in order to highlight the ecosystem approach to managing native fish and wildlife populations in Tennessee and to increase interest in restoring the sturgeon to higher levels of abundance.
