Participants ages 6-14 can come learn about safety involved with outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and boating. Seasonal Interpretive Ranger Stephanie will walk participants through a demonstration campsite to show proper and improper things involved with camping, with an emphasis on the “Leave no trace” principle. Participants will learn what 10 essential items should be packed for a successful and safe hike.

This program will be one of the Junior Ranger programs that children ages 6-14 can participate in towards completion of Tennessee State Park’s Junior Ranger Adventure Guide booklet. After completing a specified number of topics in the booklet, depending on their age, participants will receive a Junior Ranger badge.

Participants are encouraged to bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and bug spray. Meet at the boat launch parking lot of the park by 6:00pm. In the event of rain, meet at the Bluebird Barn by main entrance.

Please direct any questions to Seasonal Interpretive Ranger Stephanie at SevenIslandsSIR@gmail.com or 715-630-6848.
