A city-wide celebration to honor and recognize the action of Andrew Johnson freeing his personal slaves on August 8, 1863, and the significance of emancipation in the history of Tennessee.
On Friday, August 7th, join the virtual Town Hall Meeting, Racial Justice III - Youth and Young Adult Edition. This is a free virtual event from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM with moderator, Andre Canty.
Saturday, August 8th the Libation Ceremony will be live on Facebook at 8:30 AM. The Red-Carpet Special Presentation will be live on Cable/Community Television of Knoxville (CTV) at 8:00 PM. If you miss the live presentation one Saturday, tune in at 8:00 PM on Sunday for an encore presentation.
