Dead King Cotton’s new album took nearly 2,200 miles and 142 days of walking to complete.

Harrison Davies, who performs with his band under the name Dead King Cotton, laid down his guitar for 142 days to hike the Appalachian Trail from where it starts in Springer Mountain, Ga., to its end at Maine’s Mount Katahdin.

“If you ask me how it was, that’s a loaded question, because we’re gonna spend the whole night talking about it,” says Davies over coffee. “It’s either a whole day conversation or ‘It’s really cool.’ So I just wanted to be able if somebody really wanted to know about it, this (album) would be the best way to describe it. I just thought it needed to be done.”
The album, “Never Know What the Morrow Brings,” is available as a digital download on iTunes and Spotify, and Davies has been performing at small events around the University of Tennessee, where he is a student.

Dead King Cotton, a rock band from Knoxville, TN, will be performing at Barley's Taproom & Pizzeria on November 15th at 10pm.
