So if you are anything like me you have a sweet tooth that can attack any time day or night. Well here in Knoxville we have two places that have you covered. Makers Donuts and The Back Dough at Lonesome Dove both have donuts at NIGHT!!
Makers opens a little earlier for those of us who get tired and need our designer donuts early, 8pm. Of course you may have already gone there earlier in the day. Donut make me tell on you.
If you have not tried Makers Donuts during the day or night you doughn't know what you are missing. C'mon these puns are fun. Anywhoo they have some amazing flavors for almost any person on your lost lemon for the citrus lovers, maple bacon for those who like to be trendy, fruity pebbles anyone? Oh my childhood for a donut.
We vote both and we know those fall flavors are coming just like a winning football team and pretty leaves!
Now for those of you that like your donuts a little different you need to go down the road a little to The Back Dough.
Sweet and savory never looked so good! Now remember these bad boys don't come out until 11pm so you might have to pace yourself. Honestly who in the world puts PULLED PORK on a doughnut?
Oh just some guy named Tim Love and his crew.
Honestly I see these amazing creations between the Alsobrooks and their team and Makers Donuts and I wonder where they get these ideas? The creations are all amazing and I cannot think of a place I would rather stand outside of than these two spots. Now if you aren't familiar with Makers they are right next to Remedy Coffee off Broadway near Old Gray Cemetery.
If you need to see ALL the beautiful donuts Bite Here
Now if you decide that you need to go to the Old City...literally these two places are pretty close to each other so you COULD go to both, don't judge me.
The Back Dough is part of Lonesome Dove which is on central. To see all of that glazey goodness Lick Here
We can't be more excited that we have these two folks here and so you'll have to be the judge of which donut is more your style.
Just remember to make sure you bring enough DOUGH.
