Seriously, this weekend has so much going on we are not even sure where to start. OK, that’s a lie. Start here.  Vote for Knoxville for Blue Ridge Outdoors Top Towns contest. Knoxville is up against Chattanooga and every vote counts. Vote here:

Now let’s move on to the nitty gritty! Knoxville’s Jazz Festival started Friday and plays through Saturday. This festival started in 2006 and is still going strong. See their schedule here

The rest of you better get some sleep because we are starting the morning off on the water! Downtown Dragon Drum and Paddle will be over at Volunteer Landing. Someone told me I have to be there around 8 am so that’s what time we’ll start getting rowdy on the water. The teams have been practicing this week and to see them on the water tomorrow might be a whole other story. To see what DDDP is doing, head to their site

Then you can head up to the award-winning Market Square Farmer’s Market. What an awesome time of year when the mornings are cool and the season’s bounty is upon us! Plus food trucks, patios, and cool craft are all along the square and side streets.

While you are meandering around the side streets drop by a different type of fundraiser. Over the Edge is only or those folks not afraid of heights! Watch people or do it yourself, some of the Knoxville media went down Friday night and it "looked" like they were having fun! We might go to the aptly named chicken coop. Now you know football is right around the corner, and who better to pet behind the ears than one of the best mascots in the world? Smoky X will be hanging at Mast General Store right on Gay Street. The best part, Mast is ALWAYS pet-friendly; Smoky X isn’t just getting VIP treatment, your pup will also get Very Important Pup treatment as well. 1:30-3:00 pm

If you have not had enough fun already or you just want to sit down at someone else’s birthday party, come to Market Square. Tomato Head is turning 25 and they are having a party that anyone can attend. Great music and friends celebrating a staple of downtown. Here’s the 411!

Hopefully, some of these ideas will get you up and out the door this weekend in Knoxville. If you are looking for some more ideas, hit up our events page. If your event is not up there, ADD it! Go out, have fun and remember how much #KNOXROCKS
