Lots of places to see Christmas lights this season, and where better than Knoxville’s many parks? Check out a few picks across the county!
Krutch Park
Krutch Park is a small but lively park in the middle of Downtown Knoxville. During the holiday season, it is home to the City of Knoxville’s official Christmas tree! Meander through the wandering paths of the park which include many interesting sculptures from local artists and twinkling lights during the holidays. On one end of the park, you will find Market Square with Holidays On Ice! happening, and on the other side the 42-foot tall Christmas tree along festive Gay Street.
The Cove at Concord Park
The Holiday Festival of Lights at Concord Park now takes place all December long! The Cove’s greenway is illuminated in holiday spirit by sparkling light displays set to music. Knox County Parks and Recreation staff work hard to create a winter wonderland, which includes displays and thousands of colorful lights. Visitors may enjoy a vendor with hot drinks available for purchase on most nights. The Cove also has several fire pits available for guests to warm up or roast s’mores. Pets on leashes are welcome, making this a great outing for the whole family!
Chilhowee Park
Chilhowee Park in East Knoxville becomes a beautiful display of lights during the holiday season. The park is open until 10:00 pm each night for families to come enjoy the twinkling lights. You may drive through the park and see the lights from your car or find a parking spot in the park and walk around to see the many displays of holiday cheer, Lake Ottosee and the historic Chilhowee Bandstand.
Founder’s Park
This 17-acre park nestled beside the Farragut Branch Library is a great place to stroll along the paved pathways and see thousands of holiday lights twinkling along Campbell Station Road. The lights will shine daily from dusk until 10:00 pm. You will find other fun things to do here as well, including food trucks and a big mailbox where kids can drop letters to Santa.
