Knoxville, TN – As the official Convention and Visitors Bureau for Knoxville and Knox County, Visit Knoxville serves as the information “go-to” for visitors from around the world. The community should also know that Visit Knoxville provides up-to-date event information with an online events calendar at VisitKnoxville.com. The calendar serves as the official one for the city of Knoxville and Knox County and provides individuals and organizations the opportunity to promote events free of charge to the public.

Visit Knoxville President Kim Bumpas stated, “The events calendar is something we are very happy to provide. As more and more people are looking for a source for this type of information, we want to get the word out that this is available.”

The Visit Knoxville team has a very user-friendly submission process for adding events to the calendar. Simply go to VisitKnoxville.com, click on the Events Calendar link on the right-hand side of the page, click the “Add Event” button and follow the steps. The calendar is promoted in a number of ways, including traditional and social media. Visit Knoxville currently has more than 100,000 fans on Facebook and more than 15,000 followers on Twitter. The events also are listed in a weekly email to subscribers and available in print to guests in the Knoxville Visitors Center.

Visit Knoxville encourages event planners in this area to use the EventCheck Knox calendar by visiting www.eventcheckknox.com. This online resource, sponsored by Pilot Flying J and Moxley Carmichael, is designed to assist planners as they schedule and coordinate events. The EventCheck Knox website lets planners know what other events are scheduled so they can avoid competing against a similar event set at the same time and targeted for a similar audience.
