KNOXVILLE, TENN- The International Biscuit Festival 2016 has begun accepting submissions for the Festival’s Biscuit Art Exhibition. The exhibition will open May 6, 2016 in downtown Knoxville and will last through May 30, 2016.

The Biscuit Art Exhibition will feature artwork with a Biscuit theme. Previous winners have created a multitude of unique pieces, with Best in Show 2015 going to Tarrer Pace for his paper model “BnB.” Submissions are open to all artists 18 or older and works may be created in all 2D and 3D media. The deadline for entries is March 25, 2016 at midnight.

The exhibition will be juried by designer and proprietor Julie Belcher, YeeHaw founder and owner of Pioneer House, and Amy Evans, gifted painter and formal oral historian for the Southern Foodways Alliance.

The selected Biscuit artwork will be exhibited in downtown Knoxville at local favorites Rala and Coffee & Chocolate. One Best in Show award and two Merit awards will be presented on Friday, May 6, 2016. A total of $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded.

The International Biscuit Festival celebrates that most perfect of foods – the Biscuit.  The Festival draws over 20,000 biscuit lovers to downtown Knoxville each year and was selected the #1 Food Festival in the U.S by Livability.com.  The event has been featured in Southern Living, Garden and Gun, the New Yorker, the New York Post, as well as on CNN.
