Knoxville, TN- The Atlanta Braves are right in the middle of their season, but some of their World Series Alumnus are ready to tee off. July brings good golfing weather and a charity tournament to four- star rated Avalon Golf Course. Javy Lopez, Greg McMichael, Brian Jordan and Pete Smith are all coming to town to play in the Braves Alumni Tournament July 21st.

“Visit Knoxville is excited to assist our friends at Avalon Golf Course in bringing this tournament to East Tennessee,” stated Visit Knoxville President Kim Bumpas. “What better way to give local Braves fans a chance to meet and even play alongside some of their sports heroes.”

The Braves Alumni Association helps more than 90 charities in the greater Atlanta area, but the giving does not stop there! Some of the proceeds will go to Fostering Hope TN who help children in the foster care system feel a sense of hope and self-worth.  The organization provides backpacks, suitcases, and supplies to children who are transitioning from foster homes or who have just entered the system.

If you would like to come out and play with some of the Braves Alumni, the sponsorship package might be the best way to go. Sponsorship teams will receive the following for $5,000: four players in a tournament with a chance to golf with one of the Braves alumni and tour Turner Field with a former Braves player. Sponsor teams will also receive four tickets to the alumni suite with exception of the Red Sox. If you are looking to just get out on the greens and play that’s also permitted! The cost is $120 per player to take part in the Tournament.
