Knoxville,TN— Sundress Academy for the Arts is pleased to present poets Rebecca Cook and Jenny Sadre-Orafai for the award-winning SAFTA Reading Series event this December. The event will be held at The Birdhouse (800 N Ave, Knoxville, TN 37917) at 3:00pm on December 7th.

Rebecca Cook’s novel, Click, was released from New Rivers Press (2014). She has published two books of poems, The Terrible Baby (Dancing Girl Press, 2006) and I Will Not Give Over (Aldrich Press, 2013). Her essay, “Flame” was a notable essay in the 2013 Best American Essays. She was a Bread Loaf Fiction Scholar (2009) and has most recently published work in The Georgia Review, Antioch Review, Massachusetts Review, Brain, Child, Atticus Review, The Nervous Breakdown, Gone Lawn Journal, BlazeVox, The Rumpus, the NewerYork, and Sequestrum. New work is forthcoming in The Seneca Review. She blogs at godlikepoet.com.

Jenny Sadre-Orafai is the author of Paper, Cotton, Leather and four chapbooks. Recent poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Tammy, Linebreak, Redivider, Eleven Eleven, Thrush Poetry Journal, PANK, Rhino, Sixth Finch, ILK, iO: A Journal of New American Poetry, and Poemeleon. Recent prose has appeared in The Rumpus, The Toast, and Los Angeles Review. She is co-founding editor of Josephine Quarterly and an Associate Professor of English at Kennesaw State University. 

The SAFTA Reading Series is an award-winning literary reading series that is held monthly at 3PM at The Birdhouse near The Old City in downtown Knoxville. Writers from all over the country are invited to visit and read from their work.
