Seniors will get free admission and early access to Zoo Knoxville on Monday, September 28.  Senior Sunrise, presented by Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, offers senior citizens exclusive early access to the zoo from 7:00 until 9:00 a.m., free admission all day and special activities throughout the zoo.

During the morning hours, complimentary coffee and light breakfast snacks will be available.  Guests can also enjoy special entertainment featuring live piano performance in the East Tennessee Plaza, jazz music throughout Boyd Family Asian Trek, and highlights of the zoo’s “senior animals”.

“Making a zoo visit available to our senior community is a tradition Gentry Griffey Funeral Home and Crematory is proud to make possible,” said Gentry Griffey Manger Diane Hunter.  “We are happy we were able to work with Zoo Knoxville to give seniors exclusive access before the zoo opens to the general public so we can offer a safe environment for those that may be at higher risk during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

While complimentary snacks, beverages and activities are available during the morning hours, free admission for seniors is available any time during zoo hours on Monday, Sept. 28.  Senior visits can get their complimentary admission ticket at the zoo’s front gate on Monday, Sept. 28.

Special thanks to event sponsors Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel and Crematory and Senior Benefit, Inc. for their support of this event.
