Knoxville, TN – Next Thursday and Friday, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will continue its Moxley Carmichael Masterworks Series with Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, conducted by Maestro James Fellenbaum. The concert will take place on Thursday, October 13 and Friday, October 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre and is sponsored by Dalen and Bass, Berry + Sims. Tickets start at just $15 and are available here.
Musical selections include Rossini’s Semiramide Overture, Puccini’s Manon Lescaut: Act III Intermezzo and Cappriccio sinfonico, and Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons featuring solo violinist Giora Schmidt. Musical program and details can be found here, and patrons can view the Facebook event here.
“This all–Italian program is all about storytelling,” said Resident Conductor James Fellenbaum. “While Rossini’s Semiramide Overture — a brilliant, virtuosic concert starter — might be familiar to our audiences, the Puccini works are not as well-known but are wonderful orchestral pieces that display some of his best, and most heartfelt, instrumental writing. We are also thrilled to have violinist Giora Schmidt as soloist for Vivaldi's colorful and recognizable The Four Seasons."
