Maggie Bags™ is partnering with KARM Stores at the 12th Annual Dragon Boat Festival to raise money for Knox Area Rescue Ministries (KARM). On June 21, 2014, Maggie Bags™ will be holding its 2nd Annual Sample Sale at the KARM Stores tent during this year’s Dragon Boat Festival and all proceeds will be donated to KARM.
“Last year we raised over $3,000 and we were overwhelmed by the response of so many who wanted to support KARM by buying a sample bag. KARM is such a worthy organization helping those who are in need with food and shelter. We are passionate about helping those in our own community and thrilled to provide some financial support to an organization that provides 1,000 daily meals in our own backyard. This year our goal is to raise $5,000. With the support of this community I know we can get there,” says Steve Dew, President and CEO.
Evan Crass, Director of Partner Engagement for KARM & KARM Stores, explains the importance of partnering with local businesses like Maggie Bags™ in order to raise money for KARM. “Every day at KARM Stores, we receive gently-used household items that we put back to work to provide meals at Knox Area Rescue Ministries. Similarly, with business partners like Maggie Bags™, we’re able to take their “extra” - be it product samples or excess inventory and supplies - and help even more people.

We’re proud to work with business partners with a heart for the poor to redeem their donations for dollars to impact our community in a tangible and lasting way. The generosity of those at Maggie Bags™ is a model we hope others will follow.”
People can support KARM by coming to the KARM Stores tent at the 12th Annual Dragon Boat Festival on June 21, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and purchasing a Maggie Bag. All bags will be sold for just $10, $20 or $30 (normally $50 - $199.)
Headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, Maggie Bags™ produces ladies’ handbags and totes made from seat belt webbing.
