There is still time to apply for the 2022 UT-TSU Extension - Knox County Master Gardener volunteer training program! If you are passionate about non- commercial horticulture and serving in our community, then there’s a lot of fantastic research-based information available through the program!

Master Gardeners receive training in a variety of topics including botany, vegetable growing, soil science, water management, landscape design, ornamentals, and much more. After completion of the training, volunteers then serve in the community to educate civic organizations, school groups and others about plants, gardening, and the environment.

Registration is open to residents of Knox and surrounding counties. Training meetings will be held every Friday morning from 9am to 12pm starting January 14, 2022 through April 29, 2022.

Applications must be submitted by November 15, 2021. For more information about the training or to apply, please contact the Knox County Master Gardener program coordinator, Rylan Thompson, at (865) 215-4593 or cthomp55@ tnstate.edu.
