Knoxville, TN – Are your kids tired of drawing within the lines? Well Knoxville now has something for the littlest graphic designers among us. Feral Giant, along with Basement Community Art Studio, is proud to present a Basics Graphic Design program for kids!
Little ones aged 8-11 will be able to sign up. Feral Giant’s resident graphic artist Jody Collins will be teaching them Intro to Design, Hand Lettering, Illustration, History and more. Best part is they won’t leave with just a certificate of completion. The next to last class will be taking all of the materials they’ve worked on up to that point, building a portfolio. Then the final course I will bring in 2-3 professionals to review and critique the kid’s portfolio. Everything will be worked on by hand, not touching a computer.
It’s time for the little ones to go old school, and put down the tablets! It’s really important to start by hand, so they’re not defaulting to shortcuts. Most importantly, this will teach kids about creating art in alternative ways.

This class will begin January 19th and run weekly on Thursdays for 8 weeks . Last Class March 9th.
