(Knoxville, TN)  Each year the pages of HOT ROD Magazine come to life when performance car lovers from across the world join HOT ROD’s editors and photographers in a seven-cities-in-seven-days tour across America. 2014 marks the festive 20th anniversary of this ultimate road trip as Chevrolet Performance Presents the HOT ROD Magazine Power Tour driven by Continental Tire®,  June 7-13.

Over 4,500 participants are expected to celebrate the 20th anniversary edition of the Power Tour which kicks off with the Painless Performance Wiring Cruise Night at the z-MAX Dragway at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord (Charlotte) NC and winds its way through Tennessee, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, and Iowa before its finale stop at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI.  Along the way, more than 75,000 spectators will enjoy free admission to get up-close to the thousands of beautiful hot rods, street rods, custom trucks, muscle cars, and performance machines of every vintage and every nameplate.  Some of these lovingly-prepared gorgeous machines will be making one-day appearances and many will be making the entire 1500-mile-plus journey and thus earning the coveted status as “Long Hauler™”. 

The tour will spend Day #2 at Chilhowee Park from Noon - 7:00 pm, Sunday, June 8th celebrating the Edelbrock Cruise Night of the Power Tour.  Over 3,500 hot rods and performance cars will roll into the city as they make the scenic drive from Concord, NC on Sunday morning to spend the day in Knoxville.  The tour will begin to roll into the park by 2pm but local car enthusiasts are welcome to register their own hot rods to be a part of HOT ROD Magazine's signature event as well.  Vic & Christi Edelbrock will sign autographs from their display all day and Edelbrock will host giveaways from the Main Stage nearing the close of the evening.  The Cruise Night sponsor will also be hosting a private viewing at the Parkway Drive In Movie theater as the night comes to a close. 

At each stop of the Tour, a colorful midway of mobile display rigs from over 50 performance manufacturers and aftermarket specialists will offer participants and spectators a chance to view the latest innovations and get expert advice.  Motorsports celebrities will sign autographs for the fans. Every day the main stage will host entertainment, celebrities, games, and dozens of giveaways. For those with a need for speed, Day #4 of the Tour, held at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH, will host fun runs on the Drag Strip as part of the Driving Experience sponsored by Mothers Polishes, Waxes and Cleaners.  At each stop of the Power Tour, drivers can test their vehicle's torque and horsepower on the Lucas Oil Dyno Challenge, fans can meet "Miss HOT ROD" at the S.E.M.A. Action Network Display and car enthusiasts can stop by Chevrolet Performance  to see their showcase of Chevrolet Hot Rod history alongside the modern muscle of Chevrolet's current line of performance cars including the '14 Corvette Stingray and Camaro ZL1. 

The HOT ROD Power Tour is a boon to the economies of each of its tour stops.  Hotels, restaurants, nightclubs and bars and more will play host to the tour participants who are relaxed and enjoying the hot rodding lifestyle.  Participants come from around the world to take part in the HOT ROD Power Tour.  They plan for months or even years for the trip, and they come prepared to spend money at each stop.

On Monday, June 9, the next stop is the Downtown Riverfront in Charleston, WV.  On Tuesday, June 10th the Tour heads to Norwalk, OH and the Summit Motorsports Park.  Wednesday, June 11th brings the Tour to the Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point, IN.  Bettendorf, IA will host the Tour on Thursday, June 12th at the Isle Casino Hotel.  The Finale will be at the Chula Vista Resort in scenic Wisconsin Dells, WI on Friday, June 13th.  A private ceremony for Long Haulers only will be held on Saturday morning, June 14th at the Wisconsin Dells.
