KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Rain or shine, EarthFest 2016 will be held on Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the World’s Fair Park performance lawn in downtown Knoxville. There will be over 60 exhibitors and attractions, and as always, it’s a free, zero-waste event for the whole family, including your pets.

Over the past 17 years, EarthFest has become East Tennessee’s premier Earth Day event. And it’s not simply a celebration of the planet. From an interactive educational scavenger hunt and live music, to kid-friendly activities and a fuel-efficient car showcase, EarthFest has something for everyone.

Onsite events and activities will include:

  • Live music on the stage:
    • 11 a.m. How About Never
    • 12:30 p.m. Deadbeat Scoundrels
    • 2:15 p.m. 3 Mile Smile
    • 4 p.m. Natty’s Common Root
  • Educational scavenger hunt for a chance to win prizes
  • Youth area with free kids crafts
    • Decorating rain barrels for Beardsley Farm
    • Face painting
    • Making bracelets out of upcycled materials
    • Crafting vests out of recycled paper bags
    • Making seed starters out of toilet paper tubes
    • Turning t-shirts into reusable bags
    • Using t-shirts to create dog toys
  • Fuel-efficient car showcase organized by East Tennessee Clean Fuels
  • Goodwill pop-up clothing shop
  • Medic blood drive and organ donor sign up
  • Free tree and shrub giveaway by the Town of Farragut Stormwater Matters and sustainability programs (Redbud, Beautyberry, American Elderberry, and Eastern Ninebark while supplies last)
  • Reusable mason jar giveaway by the Tennessee Clean Water Network
  • Energy efficient light bulb giveaway by KUB (while supplies last)
  • Sterling Contracting will exhibit a Tiny Home demonstrating simplicity, sustainability and micro living
